The throat center is located at the level of the medulla oblongata. It may correspond to the larynx plexus. It has sixteen purple petals corresponding to the letters a, â, i, î, u, û, ï, ï; l, l,e, ai, o, au, am, ah. Its center is of bright white. Its sign is the circle, ether region, of the white shape of the full moon, symbol of the ether tattva, the interstellar space. It is the first impersonal and non-particularized support.

In this center resides the god Sadashiva under his androgynous form (ardhanari). His body is half snow white half gold. He is carried by an animal half lion half bull. His attribute is the eternal being, without worries of the becoming. He has five faces and ten hands holding objects, symbols of specific divine attributes like the trident, a spear, a sacrificial sword, a thunder, the great snake Dahana, a light, a prickle and laces.

The goddess is Shakini, more pure than the ocean of nectar. Her clothes are yellow, she is white and cold. In her four lotus-hands she holds the bow, the arrow, the sliding knot and the skull. It is said that she has light as shape.

The region of this chakra is described as a lunar and etheric region, like the one that changes the night into day, and like the front of the “great liberation” for the one who desires to gain the subtitles of yoga and who has pure senses. It is also said that one sees atman in all things in it, dominating the triple form of time (past, present and future).

The vehicle of the Bija HAM is the white elephant, which could be interpreted as the transformation of the elephant which in muladhara countersigns the earth tattva. Ganesh is in this way at the two extremities of the manifested consciousness.

The emotional correspondences are affection, sadness, respect, devotion, contentment, and regret.

"He who has attained complete knowledge of the Atma becomes by constantly concentrating his mind on this Lotus a great Sage, eloquent and wise, and enjoys uninterrupted peace of mind. He sees the three periods, and becomes the benefactor of all, free from disease and sorrow and long-lived, and, like Hamsa, the destroyer of endless dangers."
Celui qui a atteint la complète connaissance de l'âtman, devient, en concentrant constamment son esprit sur ce Lotus, un grand Sage, éloquent et avisé, et jouit d'une paix de l'esprit ininterrompue. Il voit les trois périodes et devient le bienfaiteur de tous, exempt de maladie et de chagrin. Il vit longtemps et est comme hamsa, le destructeur des dangers sans fin.
